Shaamahs is a project developed to perform a unique form of ambient music involving Tuvan Throat Singing, Invocative Mantra, Himalayan Singing Bowls, & Subtle Symphonic Soundscapes. Sound Meditation is very prominent these days and most of us are simply curious on how it can help achieve focus & rediscover our inner awareness. If I were to point to a simple phrase that encompasses the importance of sound in relation to the human psyche and personal well being it would be this..."if you want to find the secrets of the Universe, think in terms of energy, frequency & vibrations" Nikola Tesla.
As humans we are walking energy vibrating at multiple frequencies. This Oscilating Prana performance engages the subtle energy body & allows for a person to truly immerse themselves with the music, simply by being present with it. The goal of all Shaamaahs composition is to perform an ambient meditative sound experience that has the potential to relax, improve health, explore inwards & reach the true teacher & ultimate intelligence within all of us.

Restorative Yoga and Sound Bath

Let's explore the "State Where we Are Resting in our own true self! A place where we can begin to withdraw our senses called Pratyahara in the yoga Sutras and its one of the 8 limbs of Yoga. The limb that we are most familiar with is Asana or the poses…but there are 7 more limb. Restorative Yoga gives us a chance to slow down and begin to practice this withdrawal which is really important in December when we often begin to feel overloaded!

As class starts, most people are a little twitchy, but after about 15 minutes, there's a shift, explains yoga teacher & author Judith Hanson Lasater, PhD. This deep relaxation & inward attention is known in yoga texts as pratyahara—a conscious withdrawal from the senses.

What are the some of the physical benefits of Restorative? Studies suggest that restorative yoga can decrease hot flashes during menopause, reduce fatigue & boost quality of life in women w/ breast cancer. "Long-term practice can also become a buffer to chronic stress," says Aditi Nerurkar, MD, an integrative medicine physician@Harvard Medical School.

Restorative yoga helps restore our body’s natural capacity for health by targeting the parasympathetic nervous system.~The parasympathetic nervous system is a branch of the nervous system that regulates our body’s ability to rest, digest, and heal. When we can balance the nervous system and activate the parasympathetic response. This response will help us manage the symptoms of stress and fatigue.

Various powerful sound tools such as gongs, chimes, Himalayan singing bowls, merkabas etc which also supports healing and restoration in our bodies.

Investment is $45 for the 2 hour session! Pre-register to secure your spot. Message or text 952-200-1280

Restorative Yoga and Sound Bath

Take some time to Restore the Mind, Body, & Spirit from 10-12 on Saturday

What to Expect: Pati will guide you into setting yourself up into a few restorative poses using bolsters, blocks and lots of blankets! While in the poses, Pati will use sound tools such as Himalayan Singing Bowls, Authentic Koshi Chimes, Alchemy bowls, Merkabas, and Gongs to facilitate deeper relaxation and healing vibrations. As class starts, most people are a little twitchy, but after about 15 minutes, there's a shift, explains yoga teacher Judith Hanson Lasater, PhD, author of eight books on yoga. This deep relaxation and inward attention is known in yoga texts as pratyahara—a conscious withdrawal from the senses. "That's the state where you're resting in your true self," she says.

Benefits:

Oprah's website shared... "Restorative practice works because you're restoring your muscle & brain function," explains Roger Cole, PhD
A growing body of evidence suggests it has measurable health benefits. Cole contributed to one study that showed a six-point-greater drop in blood sugar in a group of prediabetics who practiced restorative yoga (at least 30 minutes three times a week for a year) compared with those who did stretching exercises. There's more: The restorative folks lost two pounds more than the stretchers, along with nearly a half-inch more from their waistlines. "We were surprised by the weight loss," says lead study author Alka Kanaya, MD. It made researchers think that another mechanism that they weren't able to measure—possibly more mindfulness, relaxation, or better sleep—might be at play, Kanaya says. Studies also suggest that restorative yoga can decrease hot flashes during menopause, as well as reduce fatigue and boost quality of life in women with breast cancer. "Long-term practice can also become a buffer to chronic stress," says Aditi Nerurkar, MD, an integrative medicine physician who teaches at Harvard Medical School.

November Yoga Nidra

What is Yoga Nidra???? It is a guided meditation, a therapeutic practice for deep relaxation while in Savasana
~ Yoga Nidra is an awake sleep-like state while the mind is kept quietly aware & alert
~ It involves the involution of the mind and senses,
~Pratyahara (the 5th Limb of Yoga) is withdrawel of the senses in which we create the conditions for the subconscious to assist us in healing and tapping into our inner wisdom and insight that is not readily accessible by the rational, conscious mind; in this way the practice leads us to the successive limbs of Dharana (concentration) and Dhyana (meditation)
~ The end state of true Yoga Nidra is psychic sleep or sleep in the state of inner awareness. Its on the borderline between sleep and wakefulness (the space that allows contact with the subconscious and unconscious mind where we have stored all our past memories)

We will embark on this powerful practice of Yoga Nidra. I will guide you beginning with the first few steps of preparing our body then moving onto connecting in with the subtle body and mind. It will begin with simple movement, continuing onto specific mudras which will help you to connect with your subtle body moving onto the guided practice of Yoga Nidra.

If you are interested in attending please contact me. I suggest having a specific sankalpa prepared for you practice and I will email you to guide you in this before our evening practice.

Investment is $25 for this experience.

Reiki I & II Trainings At Devanadi

Energy Healing has been used for centuries in various forms. Reiki is a natural healing modality using Universal Life force energy. Reiki practitioner use the laying on of hands or “hand’s over” through which this universal energy is transferred through the practitioner to the client to encourage emotional or physical healing. The energy does not come from the practitioner rather through the practitioner from the universal source. In Reiki I we learn about the history of Reiki, how to use it for our own healing, hand placements, and each participant receives their own personal attunement. The focus of Reiki I is to connect more to this Reiki energy and to work with it on our own individual selves.

If you want to practice Reiki with others, I suggest continuing with Reiki II where we will focus on using this Universal Life Energy to work with friends, families, and clients.

Reiki II includes an additional attunement, time to practice Reiki on another and exploring how to set up your own Reiki Sessions with clients.

3 THINGS YOU MUST KNOW ABOUT SOUND HEALING

Sound healing consists on the use of the voice and musical instruments to generate vibrations in the energy fields of the body, to recover the internal harmony of the human being.

It’s based is a very old healing technique that uses different instruments to generate sounds that help calibrate our vibratory frequencies.

1. What are the main benefits of sound healing?

– Enhances the immune system

– Improves mental functioning

– Reduces stress and anxiety, promoting inner calm

– Balances the energy centers (chakras)

– Strengthens and balances the nervous system

– Improves the circulatory system.

– Improves our mood and helps eliminate negative emotions

– Improves the quality of sleep, it can even eliminate insomnia

– Increases creativity, vitality, energy, intuition and inspiration

– Connects us with our inner self, helping us to develop self-knowledge

2. What instruments are used in a sound healing session?

Some of the most used instruments are Tibetan or alchemy bowls, tuning forks, gongs, tingshas, rains sticks, drums, koshi chimes, merkabas, & steel drums.

Each one causes specific frequencies and tones that generate different sensations in people's bodies.

3. What is a soundbath like?

As its name reveals, it is a high vibration, acoustic “bath” of sounds. It is experienced as a kind of journey towards a deep state of relaxation, meditation and personal connection.

The practitioner guides the participants through a meditation to enter a state of greater connection and relaxation, and then begins to play the instruments.

All sessions are different, and the sounds depend a lot on the people who are in the room, as well as the intention with which they are played and the energy of the group.

Create Your OWN Drum

Create Your OWN Drum

Making personal frame drums is a journey that is individually and spiritually meaningful. Wayne shares that teaching drum-making classes involves storytelling and introspection. The drum symbolizes the heartbeat of life, the heartbeat of the community. It is not simply an art form, but a tool for cleansing, centering and focusing one’s intentions for health and happiness.
Drums teach responsibility. Making them is an honor, a meditation, and continue to reveal lessons for me as well.
We start with a pre-constructed frame, deer hides, and a bucket of walnut stain. First, you choose your frame, lay out the hides, and take a few moments of reflection to connect to this medium. After cutting out the drum circles, I take you, one step at a time, through the rest of the process. The looks on the faces when the drums are completed is where it’s at for me. There are no words that can completely describe what it feels like to make your own drum. All you need is, to be there and do it!
Your investment for your own personal creation is $160 for a 13" drum and $185 for a 16" drum.

Remember Who You Are

Remember Who You Are

Taos is a town in the north-central region of New Mexico in the Sangre de Cristo Mountains. This place has been calling me to do a retreat and I am excited to announce our October Retreat…“Remember Who You Are” is the theme of our retreat. In yoga there is a term called samskaras. Samskaras are mental impressions or psychological imprints. They are the subtle impressions of our past actions. In his book on the Yoga Sutras Panditji says that our greatest Samskara is our undying loyalty to our mistaken identity. We will use the Myth of Hanuman to see how his story can help us to remember who we are…in our hearts.

The Theme of our retreat this year will center around “Remember Who You Are” We will explore the myth of Hanuman and see what the story has to open us up to our own Remembering. Our retreat will include relaxation, yoga nidra, sound baths, yoga, asana, meditation, hikes, shopping, soaking at hot springs, and more. We will start the mornings with Yoga and meditation. This retreat is created to be small and intimate allowing us time and space to remember who we really are and connect to that divine being.

We are going to some Legendary Healing Waters. For centuries, travelers and seekers have journeyed to Ojo for renewal and rejuvenation amidst our natural high desert hot springs.Soaking has been a huge part of my own personal healing journey. Ojo Caliente’s tradition runs as deep as their mineral hot springs. They became the country’s first health spa when they opened the doors of their bathhouse in 1868, and since then, people have traveled from near and far to absorb the mental and physical health benefits of soaking in pools rich in healing minerals, built out of the landscape. Each of their hot spring pools is naturally sulfur-free and rich in four elements: iron, arsenic, soda, and lithia.

A longtime artist colony, Taos also offers many galleries and museums showcasing regional artwork, including the Harwood Museum of Art and the Taos Art Museum. We will take some time to visit the plaza that has hand-made clothing and leatherwork. The jewelry created in Taos satisfies every taste and pocketbook. You’ll find beautiful tin and wood items, pottery, ceramics, and much more in this amazing town.

Another place that we will visit is the Hanuman Temple/Ashram. This ashram is a sacred space for meditation, devotional singing and satsang or spiritual discourse among aspirants.  All members of the ashram community contribute to the sacredness of this place which is a haven of peace and spiritual inspiration for hundreds of visitors and guests each year.  We practice bhakti yoga-chanting and devotional practices, and karma yoga or seva-selfless service to God and creation.

Our Taos retreat will take place in the beautiful setting of El Monte Sagrado Restort and Spa. Heritage Hotels & Resorts, Inc. has come to embody the culture, spirit, and tradition of New Mexico. Our mission is to tell the story of New Mexico to our guests. They are a New Mexico-based, minority-owned company offering a collection of award-winning accommodations. Their collection of distinctive New Mexico resorts and hotels draw from a blend of the Southwest’s Native American, Mexican, Spanish and American Western cultural and historical influences. To enter any of the properties is to enter a world of timeless design and innovative craftsmanship. The Taos property includes a variety of spaces to just “BE” including green areas to enjoy the beauty of nature, observing the koi fish on the property which are a symbol of love and friendship, or soaking in the salt water pool or hot tub. Rooms will be shared with other retreat attendees.

The cost for this amazing 4-day, 3-night retreat is $2100 when signed up by June 15th and $2300 when signed up after the early bird date.

Cacao Ceremony, Full Moon & Live Music

Cacao Ceremony, Full Moon & Live Music

Join us for an a special ceremonial evening. We will gather together for a sacred time including a Cacao Ceremony; a time to connect about the Full Moon in Libra which is on Saturday and continue with Live Music & Mantra with Jessica. We will be using music in the same way that many other cultures use music...to move energy.

A short note about the upcoming full Moon~The sun will be in Aries which represents the “self”, and the moon will be in Libra which represents “other” or “community” you may notice a theme of finding balance between you and being of service. You will have an opportunity to pull a card from the Moon Card Deck and let it speak to you during the evening and explore it’s relevance for you right now.

WHAT IS CACAO?
Cacao is raw, unprocessed chocolate in its purest form. Prepared by hand and harvested with love. When ingested, it helps to release ‘feel good’ hormones and endorphins, including theobromine, dopamine, and anandamide. Cacao can be useful in reducing stress, improving mental agility and improving blood flow. It is not psychoactive, but many people enjoy a beautiful physical and emotional journey during the meditation. Cacao is quite simply, a gentle facilitator for a connecting with your true heart and bringing out feelings of love and gratitude.

About the Cacao Ceremony
Remember, this isn’t “just chocolate,” ceremonial cacao has been grown and blessed by indigenous hands and carries an inherent vibrational quality. When we use it as a plant medicine for its amazing benefits, we should treat it with the respect it deserves. Before you drink your cacao, acknowledge its origins, feel its vibration, set your intention and invite the cacao into your heart and body to help you on your journey.

What is a Cacao Ceremony?
Everyone will set a personal intention, asking the spirit of cacao to help guide us on our journey, letting go of what no longer serves us and clearing the path for a brighter future. I will have melted the ceremonial cacao into double purified mineral enhanced water so that we have a warm chocolate brew to savor.

Pure Cacao is one of nature’s “Super Foods” and when taken in ceremony or as part of your daily diet, the benefits can be far-reaching and may include:

ANTIOXIDANT: Cacao in its purest form rates #1 on the USDA antioxidant food scale at 55’653 ORAC ahead of blueberries, goji berries, and pomegranates. It also contains the highest amount of naturally occurring magnesium

BRAIN POWER: Cacao increases blood flow to the brain by 10-15%, creating higher levels of mental agility, and improving awareness and focus

HEALTH: Cacao contains potassium, phosphorous, copper, chromium, zinc, iron and high levels of magnesium which contribute to cardiovascular health

BLISS: Cacao contains Anandamide or the “Bliss Molecule.” Anandamide is an endocrine liquid that your body produces when you feel a workout “high”. It is a natural pleasure molecule located in the cells of the nervous system

FOOD OF THE GODS: Cacao contains the alkaloid theobromine, which translates literally into “Food of the Gods” – similar to caffeine in terms of energetic impact but impacting the cardiovascular system rather than the nervous system. Theobromine increases energy and focus without the anxious “buzz” one gets from ingesting caffeine. Cacao is a fabulous alternative to caffeine!

MOOD ENHANCER: Cacao is natural mood enhancer releasing serotonin and dopamine which can help with easing depression and releasing negativity

APHRODISIAC: Cacao is an aphrodisiac as it releases our “love” molecule PEA

MINERALS: Raw cacao has more than 300 phytochemicals and nearly four times the antioxidant power of regular dark chocolate, and contains protein, calcium, carotene, thiamin, riboflavin, magnesium, and sulfur

*Investment for evening is $38

Sacred Rose Cacao & Sacred Music

You Are A Divine Temple!

We will set our intentions this evening to Clear and Open Our Divine Temples.

We will start our evening with a warm welcoming ceremony and some gentle clearing. The concept of ceremony can be intimidating for some people. Since our western cultures have disconnected from traditional rites of passage and community ritual over time, it is easy to forget that many of our ancestors created ceremony as a way to connect with the world around them and within them. Many Shamanic traditions teach that plants have a higher level of consciousness and by imbibing them we have access to those expanded states of awareness. Looking at the arrival of cacao in Europe, many new medical uses for cacao were discovered. These uses often used cacao to improve digestive issues, as a nutrient to treat abnormally thin and weak patients, and as a stimulator of the nervous system to improve mood and virility. Cacao ceremonies have been around for many years and in many cultures.
Tonight we will enter into our Sacred Rose Cacao Ceremony as a way to open up to self-reflection and spiritual awakening, allowing ourselves to contemplate who we are, connect to our hopes, wishes, and dreams, and let go of the past in order to grow from it and build a better future.

We will then move into a time of Sacred Music. Jessica Mitrani will lead us through Music & Mantras. Mantra meditation can free the mind of negative emotions - such as fear, anxiety, hatred, envy and greed - and awakens awareness of our spiritual nature, allowing spiritual love within the heart to truly blossom.

  • Energy Exchange~$88

  • Sleepover and Breakfast option for additional $35
